A6 traffic/Asda

Why did Asda get permission to make everyone's lives even worse in the Hazel Grove area? Not only does big money talk in getting planning permission, but the store itself is dark, dismal and very customer unfriendly. There are now no toilets because the cafe has gone. Customers crossing the A6 from Commercial Road now find that the corner door clearly marked "ENTRANCE" has been locked with a notice saying "EMERGENCY EXIT ONLY" forcing people to walk the whole length of the restricted pavement outside to gain access at the car park end. What arrogance to close what has ALWAYS been the main entrance to the store. I for one will never ever go near the place again and suggest a week long boycott to show all-powerful ASDA that people in this area care more about having their lives improved rather than being subjected to even more traffic chaos.

It is impossible to get a reply to their phone number because it gives opening hours, then says the line is busy instructing callers to try again and then cuts them off! I expect the manage has become fed up with telephone complaints!

Remember how Sainsbury gained planning consent by promising to provide access to the mythical "A6 by-pass" ?

Remember how MacDonalds not only gained planning permission after years of refusals to other companies, but also had the A6 re-aligned to provide a new road and car park access to their unhealthy eating provision?

I agree with the comment above, I deliver to the chemist in asda and use that entrance by the pub, sometimes I have heavy things and it is a long walk going round to the front entrance. Can't wait for the Christmas rush with one entrace in, one out I am sure it will be utter chaos.
